Facts: Nestled in the heart of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, you will find a sporting adventure awaiting you at Hacienda San Vicente hunting & bass fishing lodge on Lake Guerrero—world-renowned, record-class trophy bass fishing. The lake is the ultimate bass haven,  with many islands and two rivers, acres of flooded timber and picturesque stump coves, where the big fish like to spend their days. Anglers find the lake’s shadows, vegetation and shallow areas to be the perfect habitats and harvesting grounds for North America’s most popular game fish. Lake Guerrero is home to countless black bass of both the small-mouth and large-mouth varieties and they consistently deliver with their signature strong pull on the line. Anglers, both men and women of all experience levels—from novice to professional—can expect to pull in 75 to 100 bass per day on Lake Guerrero; and it’s not unheard of to catch several 10 lb plus per day as well.

Fishing tips: We furnish all tackle; just bring your reels or use ours. A variety of lures work well, so if you are accomplished at one or two types of presentations just tell your guide and he will rig the right colors and type for you, i.e., Top Water, Jig and Pig, Rat-L-Trap, Spinner Baits, Cranks, Worming or Carolina Rigging. Colors in plastics that work in every season are Green Pumpkin, Watermelon/Red and Craw Colors. In cranks and traps, crawfish, chartreuse, fire tiger and chrome colors are steady winners. Top water color selections would be Chrome, Chartreuse and Shad.

Plan ahead: You’ll have to book early to get some of the limited accommodations during the year-round fishing season.
