MEXICO BASS FISHING
Starting in the late 70's with the fish-every-cast action found on storied Lake Guerrero and Lake Don Martin, my bass catching opportunities in Mexico have steadily expanded to include 10 of best fishing lakes in Mexico, like Aguamilpa, Baccarac, Comedero, El Cuchillo, El Cristo Rojo, El Salto, Guerrero, Hidalgo/Dominguez, Zimapan with all offering mind-boggling numbers, double-digit weights, stunningly gorgeous waters, and the warm, delicious food and hospitality found south of the border.
A true trophy Largemouth Bass must weigh a minimum of 11 lbs. 3 oz., roughly 51 percent of the world-record weight. We have several lakes in Mexico that can produce that Trophy Bass on any cast.
Mexico bass are known for being aggressive; so you'll need to make sure your fishing gear is in perfect condition to handle the twist and pulls of these trophy size bass.
Don't be fooled into thinking any equipment will survive a struggle with the Mexican bass. Your equipment must be strong and reels must be checked and well lubed.
Replacing your line before taking your trip to Mexico is also extremely important if you don't want to lose that potential once-in-a-lifetime Trophy Bass.
